Kat is our Senior Consultant & Director of Non-Profit Relations, specializing in connecting the non-profit community to the for-profit community, and vice versa. Kat began working in the nonprofit sector in 2004 and has since raised more than $20 Million for a variety of national and local organizations, managing events, writing grants, and seeking corporate sponsorships to help move stressed budgets into “the black,” thus keeping these non-profits fiscally healthy to execute their very important work for the people that they serve.
Kat not only enjoys raising money (and doesn’t mind being told “no” over and over…and over), but also finds fulfillment in marketing adventures. She understands the need for a daily message and has been able to put non-profits on the map.
In her spare time, Kat likes to bake (it’s in her blood, as her great-great-grandfather once had a bakery), cook and preserve food, garden, raise farm animals and two pups: an 18-year old Beaglier, Apache Earlobe (aka Patches, aka #FuckPatches), and 2-year old Olde English Bulldogge, Angus Porterhouse (aka #PhonyFakerAngus). She has “run” two 5K’s and has absolutely zero plans to run any more, although participates in winded 3.5 mile walks around her block.
While “Kateri” appears as her name on her birth certificate, years of mispronunciations and misspellings lead her to drop the “eri” and use Kat professionally.
She was raised by a single mother who was the inspiration for Kat to morph into a proud-staunch-liberal-feminist-Democrat who cares most about equality and civil rights for all, and has very witchy moments when she can see through all of your bullshit (trust us on this).
Kat lives on an old dairy farm in Galway, New York, which was the venue for her recent non-traditional backyard outdoor country wedding to her long-time love, Pat. (Yes, that’s right…Kat and Pat…how cute.) Her wedding was the FIRST event she has ever planned for herself, after years of planning for others.
