Our Community.

If you have come here to help me you are wasting your time, but if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.
— Lilla Watson, Māori artist, activist, and academic in the field of Women’s Issues and Aboriginal Epistemology.

Our colleague Amy Jones introduced us to Lilla Watson’s quote, which has become our sole principle in working with our community.

We work with our community through three primary resources: pro-bono services, sponsorships, and donations of product from our merch site or our services.*

In terms of working with our community, we focus our resources on organizations that provide direct support to Black people, indigenous people, and people of color, LGBTQIA+ people, marginalized genders, and to people in our community living within these intersections. When we say “direct support” we mean just that: we invest our resources in programs and services that meet the immediate and emergent needs of human beings who are and have been historically de-resourced, oppressed, and marginalized by systemic racism, white ignorance, homophobia, transphobia, patriarchal power structures, capitalism, settler colonialism, and religious bigotry.

We do not provide support for religious organizations or causes, military / veterans organizations, or chambers of commerce / “economic development” fiefdoms. Additionally, we do not provide support for organizations with a history of harming the community they claim to serve.

*If you are seeking support through pro-bono services, sponsorship, or donations of product from our merch site or our services, please do not send us an unsolicited proposal or request letter; instead, contact us first so we can discuss how we may work together.
